Headlight upgrade-you gotta do this
I am sure you already know that the markings D1S,D1R,D2S,and D2R are
the module number for the modules and has nothing to do with DOT
admissability or compliance. These module numbers are used much the
same as 9004 9007 9005 in standard bulbs for automotive application
Just because the modules are stamped with this on the lens means
nothing it just shows which module number to replace if it burns out
On the other hand the DOT Stamp or imprint means a lot
When using true HID the reflectors and bases must also be designed for
the module they have a different beam pattern not the same as standard
automotive bulbs either incandescent or halogen
Using HID modules in a fixture not designed for such can cause injury
to the owner or vision impairment to on coming traffic. Be careful
when using hid modules and Ballasts High Voltage is present. Also HID
Modules can only be used with the proper Ballast and Starter
