Has anyone here chained up there bus to go into snow or ice conditions?

Here is what I have decided to do - talked with a friend that runs some trucks:
1- Watch the weather
2- When I get close to the area of concern I will watch the truck stops and see how full they are
3- If getting full I will stop and ask questions
4- Proceed with caution

Please let me know if you guys feel this make sense.

One concern is that I do not think I could even put them on.
