Genny flexible exhaust
You could search for "flexible turbo pipes" and find something that will last longer. THey are not too expensive and much stronger than standard flex exhaust. There is a reason flex pipe was used. A piece of non flex pipe would crack in the same place or somewhere more expensive.... like an exhaust manifold. Hope this helps, RIck in Ohio

My 87FC35 has an 8k diesel genset (never figured out whose 3 cyl engine it is... doesn't say on it). My genset is fixed and not on a sliding tray.

Anyway, I've replaced the flexible piece of the exhaust 3 times in 5 years, and it just broke again. The piece is about 12 inches long and is of course designed to absorb some of the vibration off the genset. But I'm tired of replacing that thing.

Does anyone have a thought on what it would do to just replace the flex pipe with a solid pipe? I'm thinking the exhaust hangers would then just have to absorb any of the vibration.

Thanks,
Alan Johnson
