Black Water tank - 1984 FC35SB

I chipped away some of the insulating foam looking for a part number and unless
I'm dreaming, the black water tank is METAL ???

Can someone confirm this or is it a metal pan around the real tank.

Can anyone that's seen the outlet fitting tell me what it's like.?

A previous owner has wrapped the pipe between the tank wall and the valve with
something like fiberglass (or glued blue jeans) and I'm really reluctant to cut
it off because if this sucker starts leaking really bad they will throw us out
of the park we're in and a motel with 3 dogs isn't a very viable option.

I was considering having the tank replaced but if it's not plastic and is metal
that is more repairable and someone totally different.
