Leaving NOLA? and SE TX?
By this time, I hope all of our southern Louisiana (and potentially SE
TX) members are heading north for a few days. And any members in the
FL Keys also. My local weather channel an hour ago said hurricane
hunter planes measured winds in the eye of Gustav this morning at
approximately 108-109 mph. It appears all current landfall models are
now currently converging pretty squarely on Louisiana. It should
really grow over the warm Gulf waters after it clears Cuba.

Time to go!

I talked with Steve Gureasko in Louisiana last night and he had the
weather on in the background. He convinced me it was not a good
weekend to head to the South Texas coast. On the other hand, he was
somewhat contemplating riding it out, but had their Bird loaded and
ready to go. His only escape route as of last night, due to mandatory
escape routes depending where one is starting from, was up 55 north to
Arkansas.

I hope you are on the road north on the way to enjoy Arkansas Steve.

Be glad you are not in Cuba right now - Gustav on one side and Hanna
on the other - and no roads north or any other direction!
