Rust!!!
In my apparently never to end mission to improve repair and keep
running the "Big Napper" I ellected to tackle todays project which was cleaning up and eventually to paint the propane tank. To this point I have achieved two things. One is to wire brush the scale off of the tank and the other is to get about as filthy dirty as I've been in my 61 years of age. I think I know what to do next as far as cleaning up. The wife is going to hose me down in the back yard and THEN I might be allowed back in the house. My reason for posting is how should I handle this tank. At the Maxton Rally something was mentioned about "blue ---" (can't remember the last word) which was supposed to be good for rust treatment. I can't get this down to really good clean metal but I have the surface free of any loose scale. Advice as to what to use and where to get it would be appreciated. I'll be back in about an hour and hopefully a lot cleaner. John Heckman central Pa 1973 FC |
