Replacement Generator
That's inspiring, I felt guilt because the truck genset has 200+ hrs since oil
change. I might stretch it as I don't like the Genewreck that much anyhow. On
the other hand a friend of mine lost a rod bearing on his 7.5 Onan at 6000 hrs
and I doubt he changed the oil on time.

i have a buddy with some semis, they haul frozen foods in a refer trailer, they
change oil at 1000 hours in the engine on the refer unit.it never shuts
down...its about the same tupe deal we have,4 cyl diesel engine,it does have a
bigger oil pan,it holds more oil..i run my genny for days on end,and i never
service it while on the road, the oil level never drops so i don't worrie about
it..almost 6000 hours on mine, and if it blows up,i'm going to powertech and buy
a new one!! randydupree93wb

Me too, Randy. Do you think 336 hours on that oil change was a
stretch?

I think the start-up warm-up, cool off, start-up warm-up, cool off,
start-up warm-up, cool off, start-up warm-up, cool off, start-up
warm-up, cool off, start-up warm-up, cool off has GOT to be the
reason for oil changes. You know, fire it up-make coffee-shut it
off. Thats what is hard on things.

You using a Perkins/Kohler?
