Need advice on interior Paneling

I've been contemplating the dark paneling in the Big Napper. It's in
pretty nice shape, but I think it would be a lot nicer if it was
lightened up. I have been considering wall papering over the
paneling. I've had a little bit of reluctance to do this fearing I
might not be happy with the results. Any suggestions would be
appreciated and of course opinions pro and con.
