RATS rally reservations
I'm not out to ruffle any feathers but here goes. On this one I have to agree
with Bob Loomas. You have some poor joker sitting on the waiting list for RATS since last year. Now comes a cancellation and a fellow that decided yesterday that he wants to go is able to jump the line. I know life is not fair but I will not be a party to stacking the deck. I started to call Leroy the other day about his spot but just felt it was not the right thing for "me to do". I think the ones organizing the RATS should have it understood with the campground management to allocate cancellations to the next person on the waiting list. FWIW. This is my thoughts and you have a right to yours. There are spots being held for birder and there is a standby waiting list and the campground has the list. so what I am saying is why should people be a loud to jump the line . Bob Loomas 1985 PT 36 Bob, Is the waiting list specifically for Birders???? We don't know. That is why we posted on the forum because we wanted to make sure that our spot would go to a Birder that wanted to attend the RATS Rally rather than whoever happened to call in to the campground "just looking for a spot for the weekend." PLEASE let us know. If the waiting list is specifically for those Birders wanting to attend RATS then we'll just cancel and let it go to the next Birder on the list. Thanx..... didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. Just trying to make sure a Birder gets the spot as opposed to "Joe Schmo just passin' thru on vacation" with no interest or knowledge of RATS. Two weeks ago I posted on this forum that I could not attend due to extenuating circumstances first come first served(I reserved a spot upon leaving RATS last year). I received one response. I gave my position to him. Should I have done something different? What happen to the waiting list?Or is that just a bunch of bull Bob Loomas 1985 PT 36 We waited for someone to respond to our post. We then cancelled and gave the park that persons name. He then called and took our place. If you just cancel, I presume the next person on the list gets the spot. So Leroy, how does this standby list work? Do we just cancel our res and they automatically let the next person on the list know? Or does it require a little more coordination than that? Your input is appreciated! K&P Marsh ToWanda 89WB40 Leroy Eckert just today let our spot go to a fellow Birder. The campground will hold the spot for a limited time. It's easy to coordinate but if you snooze you lose. I hate to miss it, it's a great show. That will be $1.000,lol Leroy Eckert 1990 WB-40 "Smoke N Mirrors" Niceville, FL Royale Conversion ----- Original Message ----- From: KP Marsh To: wanderlodgeforum@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 7:17 PM Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Have to cancel our RATS rally reservations; anyone interested in getting our spot? REALLY hate to have to do this but we are going to have to cancel our RATS reservations we made last fall. Our travel schedule doesn't allow us to make it this year as we must be in Austin TX by no later than Nov 1st. If anyone is interested in taking our spot as we cancel please let us know SOON so that we can coordinate the timing and let the campground know who will be calling them to reconfirm the spot they are holding for us.
