Propane Tank Capacity? (84FC35SB)
If he didn't open the little thumb-screw valve with the metal
washer like ring around it, then he doesn't know how to safely fill the tank. These tanks don't have an over-fill protection system and are grandfathered in due to age. You must open the valve and stop filling when liquid propane starts to come out. If you don't you risk overfilling, which can be very dangerous. I don't believe it is designed as a purge valve, it is connected to a tube inside the tank that is placed so that when the liquid level reaches it it begins to exit through the valve indicating the tank is legaly full.
