Need advice want to leave tomorrow and have a dead alternator.

I have been fighting an alternator problem. I just had my second

voltage regulator fail. Leece-Neville 130A. This one lasted 5 minutes. Has anyone shut off the alternator and just used the generator from time to time to charge the batteries while driving. How much of a drain does the operation of the bus put on the batteries-fuel pump, fan engage, dash gauges etc. We are supposed to leave for Oshkosh tomorrow aprox 2000 miles. We will be driving only during daylight hours. I will have the charging system looked at in the Midwest. What do you think? Jim Matus 84FC35 Rescue CA |
