A BLUEBIRD BED TIME STORY

So here I am having a nice nap when the phone rings, Its my best
friend. How's it going he asks, fine and you. Not so good he says, my
seizures are coming more often and the medication makes me want to
sleep. No drive, no get up and go. Just want to stay at home and
watch the world cave in. Doesn't sound too good my friend what can I
do to help I say. You know my (here it comes just in case you were
about to fall asleep) 79 Bluebird Wonderlodge that's been sitting for
going on three years now, and costing me $100.00 dollars every month
to store? Yes I say, what about it. Well he says, you ain't ever
gonna get that Revcon put back together not in my life time. Why
don't you come out here and get the Bird. It's yours. You don't have
to give me a dime just come get it so I don't have to pay anymore
rent. Should start right up with the new 250 horse turbo engine I put
in just befor I put her up. And the new interior and carpet has very
little wear to speak of. And the new paint job has many more years to
go. A little tweak here and there and she should be good to go
anywhere. Its 35 foot of steel and heaven on wheels.

Ya but it's a bus. It's a monster. It's as big as a train I say. Sell
the dam thing. No he says, you just come get it, that way it stays in
the family. Well my new friends, there is a monster with wheels and
tires as big as a VW. Steel so thick it feels like an armored
personal carrier. So long and tall it should be painted yellow and be
taking my neighbors kids to school. Sitting, no, digging her hoofs
into my front yard.

I live in the hills. No sidewalks no street lamps. Neighbors can't
believe there eyes on the way to work seeing this monster looming
over the greenery. Cops asking me if Im a drug king pin. My dog
hasn't come out of the house since it arrived. Birds won't come with
in a hundred feet of its bulk. But let it be known, this is one sweet
ride. WOW! the Bluebird fairy has dropped one of the wonders of the
world in my lap. The 65 mile ride home was something else. This sure
ain't no plastic garbage bag. It's a condo that can do. And on the
road too. QUESTIONS TO FOLLOW SO STAY TUNED. That is if you can hear
through the steel.
