South Padre Christmas/New Year's Break

South Padre Christmas/New Year's Break
Jack,

That's great that you are going to join us on South Padre! How many
others out there are planning on coming?

While I think they could accommodate you when you show up, since you
are coming close to New Year's when the snowbirds really start
flocking in, it is probably worth the time to call them at
800-867-2373 to make sure they got the reservation and that they
understand the size of your rig and have you in a big enough spot.
Check the park map at http://destinationsouthpadre.com/ResortMap.htm
to see the layout. We usually congregate down the isle from spot
149-130 or so. My understanding is that all the outer view spots were
sold out at this point.

Also, since you have not been there, when you get off highway 77/83
and onto park road 100 headed to Port Isabel and South Padre, you will
encounter many small towns where the speed limit quickly drops to
45/35/25. You really want to watch for those signs, enjoy the local
scenery, and fastidiously adhere to the local speed limits. Just an
fyi, since the official state tourist & visitor's center right off
77/83 in Harlingen openly refer to the little towns along park road
100 as speed traps.

See you soon! Drive safely.
