I have a rolling 2 1/2 ton floor jack phobia. several years ago I bought a cheepo jack and used it to lift 1/2 of a 3 1/2 ton skidsteer. pumping the jack hydrolic fluid to fill the cylinder it felt spongey and the load would lift only little. As I attempted to pull the jack back out from under the tractor, I got hit in the face by the 3 pound round metal load cup that is Loosly fitted on the long arm end of the jack. I was lucky to only have a broken cheekbone, 16 stiches and a black eye. It turns out the spongeyness was air in the cylinder and I was compressing the air to over 3,000 psi. Remember to purge the air if you feel the same lifting problem. GregoryO'Connor | |||
