Turbo whistle?
I believe it's because of heavier gauge and short pipes associated
with the turbo on the older 3208's. The 'whistle' you hear on the bigger engines, and the 3208 ATAAC engine are likely because of thinner walled turbo pipes and especially aftercooler piping. I couldn't hear my turbo very well until I had silenced the engine noise enough. Now I hear it very faintly every now and then.
