Air intake cowling

On my new to me 1987 PT 38, the air intake cowling, up on the roof is
facing towards the back. I was told it should be facing forward. Before
I start taking a bunch of screws out to get to where I think a clamp
might be. Does anyone know for sure, the easiest way to spin this
around.
