				Cat Oil filters

When we bought our 88 FC it came with 2 spare oil filters 1R0713. They

were very impresive: large heavy can that is one piece, die cast threaded top instead of formed sheet metal. They were expensive, about $13.00 Canadian. Today I went to my Cat dealer to get 6 filters. Surprise they are now just over $6.00. However when he brought me the filters they are just like any Wix or Baldwin filter. Crimped top, shorter and lighter. I suspect that they are simply a brand "x" and are not made by Cat. What a disappointment! I have emailed Cat to get more info on this change. Bruce |
