I believe that the failure of the lock on the steerable tag is due to lack of use and maintenance. Newell is still using a steerable tag on their coaches, but don't know their experience, do they have a unusually high failure rate?
I liked the lifting tag on 1997 Wanderlodge as well as on our current coach 04 Prevost.
David what is the experience of our friends are having on their Newell with the steering tag?

RE: steerable tag
I have seen no issues with Newell's tag for the time I've been watching.

RE: steerable tag
I was just thinking , could the Tag axle air pressure in some way effect the steerable tag ? my Tag axle pressure is constantly at 70/90 lbs . could this have played a part in the instability of the steerable tag ? I d like to know what the pressure is set for those who still have a operating steerable tag .

Hey Rick,

I'm at the Asheville WaGu rally and having the time of my life! When I get a chance I'll check my records for part numbers for your tag axle. We're replacing wheel lug bolts on Al's coach which also happens to be a steer axle tag. We'll take pics and collect part numbers as we go.

RE: steerable tag
Rick , our tag pressure will bounce from 70 to 90 . are you saying your is the same ? I have been told 65 lbs but the tag does not hold steady , so is it 65 to 80 or 50 to 65 ?
