Break-in Recommendations
Hi guys and gals:
Anyone have recommendations of break-in of 8V92 after an in-frame rebuild? Official or un-official? R.E. (Ron) Marabito, Dallas, TX 92WB40 Coach broken in Calgary, AB |

IMHO Ron the people who are backing your warrantee will give you the best advice on'break-in" advice.

I'm with Rob, 8 years ago November our country came to a consensus.
I'm not into oil sampling because it wont prove much on used crap but starting fresh and new it may help your 'out of town' rebuilder chose some participation in follow up tweeking at your local shop. It might be that the Canadians give you different brakein procedures because they understand your return trip and their inability to make a follow up review???? may be wise to find a home town shop that can touch bace with the rebuilder prior to taking it in for a home town return trip review. I just returned from a loop to Portland, OR and back to Dallas in my '87 PT, which had ~300 miles on the rebuilt 8V engine when I got it last June. I used 3 gallons of oil in 6500 miles, so I suggest you carry some extra for the trip home with the new engine. That's about 2x the consumption of my '85 6V.
