Hi-beam switch for 89pt40

I would like to start thinking about my next fix. When I turn my
headlights on, Hi-beam and low beams are both on. When I turn the hi-
beams on, I see the hi-beam light on the dash but it has no effect on
the lights. Is the switch shot or is it a wiring problem? Can the
switch be repaired? If not where can I find one? I,m afraid that the
previous owner bypassed something to get the lights to come on.

By the way, I agree with Ralph when it comes to fixes. If I deviate in
any way from original specs, I document it in a logbook that I maintain
for the bus.
