Route to Joshua Tree
Hi Everyone! Jim and I are in Southern CA (Hisperia, I-15 mm 147)
headed further south. Has anyone taken their bird on hwy 18 to hwy 247 to Joshua Tree Natl Park? Is it narrow, hilly, treacherous or any of those things that make the navigator nervous? We're thinking of a few days in Black Rock or Indian Cove, then hwy 62 to Palm Springs. Your comments please. Better to plan ahead based on your experiences than learn for ourselves on the fly. Thanks in advance Pen & Jim '83 PT 35 Hisperia CA |

Route to Joshua Tree
Pen and Jim, I dont remember any major problems in that route but
other forum members live up there and may chime in. If you need anything while in our area just call. Good road all the way, not at all narrow as I understand narrow, some up/down hills, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Another route is the 15 south, 10 east, to hwy 62. I'd opt. for the 18 & 247 from Hesperia as it will keep you out of the RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC that we have below the mountains in this part of the country. >We're thinking of a few days in Black Rock or Indian Cove, then hwy 62 >to Palm Springs. > > From Joshua Tree, hwy 62 is a short and easy drive to hwy 10 and Palm Springs. Route to Joshua Tree
I should add...
If you decide to leave the Park via the south entrance, you hook up with hwy 10 which (west) takes you to Palm Springs. If you like history, take hwy 10 to the east a few miles and you come to Gen. Patton Museum. Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92, Anaheim Hills, Calif.
