1988 FC side mouldings
As some of you know our unit spends time in Mexico. I had it in our new
Bird House while I was away for 10 days. The roof leaked ( ah that
wonderfull Mexican crafmanship). Like most roofs in this area it is
made of concrete. The leaks picked up some kind of alakali or acid
from the concrete. This etched the anodized aluminum mouldings on the
side of the Bird. It also affected the paint but I think it will buff
out with some aggresive compound (I hope). I was able to remove some of
the white stain on the mouldings but the anodize is gone on some parts.
looks like you dripped battery acid on them. I havent called BB yet as
they usually want to call you back and I doubt they will call Mexico. I
understand they do not answer emails. Does anyone know if these
mouldings are available? Has anyone here ever replaced them? Any chance
they are available elsewhere? Any tips or hints appreciated.

Bruce I know that Woody did buy some mouldings for his bird "Haulin Wood".
His bird didn't have them so he bought new ones. Maybe he'll chime in here
or Randy will be able to tell you where he got them.

Blue bird has 2 styles of molding that were available and most likely
still are
1 went over the corrigated or w shaped school bus molding and the
other covered one the other moldings iam not sure which It may have
been one of the other but it was definitely for a lower profile
IT was priced at around 75.00 a 20 foot piece but that was last summer

Sorry to hear of your problem with your bird.
Our bird had some problems with the aluminum also.
Previous owner tried to buff it out and made it worse.
I went to my local sign shop and got color changing vinyl put on.
Got the gold that changes color as you walk past it.
At our bird rallies, everybody loves it.
Cost was $200 as it runs 6.00ft but can get 3 passes on one sheet.
We love it. More color than the aluminum look.
There are a lot of colors available.

Would powder coating be an option? Chrome powder coating is available today.
