Tuesday 01/05 Kathy and I were returning
from California to Fort Worth. I was on 180 headed toward Guadalupe National park when a Wanderlodge caught
up with me. If you have driven that route you know that it is a pretty good
pull up that hill. I had the cruise set on 70 and he (or she) stayed about 4
or 5 car lengths behind me. Our 82 would probably be doing good to make 25 up
that hill. We left them behind at the inspection station but pretty soon they
were behind us again. We stopped at the rest stop on 652 but they didn’t
go in. It looked like an early 80’s FC with the three screens on the
front and the usual brown and crème paint. It had a Cummins decal near the Wanderlodge
name plate and did have the turn light on the front bay door. It looked pretty
stock other than the way it would run. They would stay with me on the hill when
I didn’t have any throttle left on the Volvo. There was no front license
plate and I couldn’t read the rear when we went into the rest stop. I wouldn’t
drive our coach that hard but I sure would like to be able to pull the
mountains better. Has anyone run across this Wanderlodge and know anything
about it?
