Hi group,
On our way here to Fla from Texas,I have noticed the jake brake quit working on the high position. That is the one I mainly use, very rarely the low position. Thing is, the low position sounds like it has the high setting. I changed out the switch figuring it's 25 years old and fried itself. Didn't help. My next thought is that there is a solinoid in the engine compartment that has bit the dust. Problem is, where do I look for it? I would think this part is pretty available, but I have to find it first. Any thoughts on where to look? Bob Lawrence 84 PT36 Tallahassee, Fla |

Bob - A friend with a 6v92 powered County Coach was having a very similar
problem. Turns out the solenoids that respond to the electric signal are under the valve covers. The same local truck shop that does some work on our Bird fixed the problem right up. The situation with yours could be different of course. Bob: I would bet that you just have a loose or corroded connection on a wire
controlling the Jake. R.E. Could be, Ron.....now if I can just find where it connects to the solenoids.
