GFCI tripping solved - easy approach

I think I have at least isolated my GFCI tripping problem. I discovered that I

had continuity between the neutral and ground at the bus shorepower receptacle. I pulled the AC power panel cover and confirmed continuity there as well. I was lucky to have a couple of extra holes in the buss bars so I clamped my voltmeter leads in. Pulled white wires off the buss bar until I got an open circuit. Replaced the others and the circuit remains open. Button it up, and I've got good shorepower without tripping. Took about 5 minutes all told. Now I just need to hunt down the white/ground short on the affected circuit. That might be more time consuming. John Churchill LARGE MARGE 1980 FC33 Sanibel, FL |
