Engine Amp Meter 84FC
While driving at night recently I noticed that my lights were pulsing
ever so lightly. Hardly noticable but when I looked at the amp meter I saw that it was pulsing also. The needle ticks back and forth across the + side. It also looked to me like it pegged on the + side when I used the retarder. Thanks for your help, Keith 84FC35 |

Engine Amp Meter 84FC
I notice the same thing when the primary power is coming from the
engine alternator -- some of the lights pulse -- especially the 120 v incandescent lights in the bathroom -- this is particularly noticeable when the engine is at idle. I presume that the alternator output is varying slightly at low RPM. I assume that the variation is below the level that the regulator can control... However, I haven't noticed any movement in the gauge needles when this is occurring... (My retarder is not electric, so that isn't an issue for me.)
