Something kind of interesting
Some of the folks only part of the history of there old Wanderlodges.
Part of the fun for me is to find out who the previous owners were and what they knew about the old Rebel Bird. This last weekend I had a nice chat with the second owner of my special Wanderlodge and secured all kinds of interesting information about its history from the time he got it to the time he sold it. Mick and his wife Judy owned my coach for over 10 years and of course it was interesting to find out what upgrades they had done but also what the coach was like before he bought it. For you people who don't know it but my old bird was built with the intentions of carrying show dogs in the back. The dogs were Great Dans and must have been the top of the line dogs as they sure traveled in style. The coach was built with a small kennel in the back and if you look at the original pictures I have secured you can see where there is a scissor type type steeps leading to the ground from the back door. This coach ran out at $90,000 in 1978 money and I guess was used for its intended purpose for around 10 years. I have tried to contact the original owners but I think they have past away but through the Internet I have found a picture of the gal who was the dog trainer and handler. Her picture is below and she looks really small compared to her Dane standing next to her. Anyway just thought maybe someone here might have been interested in reading about my special old coach and its history of sorts. http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/1942...nderlodge/ http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/1942...l%20Owner/ Jon Rebel Bird Special 78 |
