Insurance (was: Going to get coach)
Hey Ross,
How did you get your insurance company to pay for a mechanical failure like that?? I've never known insurance companies to fork over for these sorts of things. -Ryan '86 PT-40 8V92 On Sun, Oct 19, 2008 at 6:35 PM, Ross > > Hi, > Probably not applicable here with the sensor not set up to shut the > engine down, but perhaps the info can be used somehow or for others. > A few years ago, my Cummins/onan genset in my boat lost its oil plug. > No doubt due to vibration, as the oil changes were always done by suction. > The diesel engine was toast. > Insurance paid almost all. $8700 minus about $16.00 for the low oil > pressure sensor that failed. Hi, I agree ,I was fortunate. The failure was agreed to be software system failure and they paid for the resultant damage, which was mechanical. Unfortunately, I am NOT always that lucky !! At least not with Blue Bird -- but I'm working on it!
