Jeff,

I know what a crow's-foot wrench is...by tubing wrench do you mean a
flare nut wrench? Is this a shop fabricated tool, a Snap On goodie or
an off-the-shelf item from Sears, Napa or...?

BTW, our parking brake is now working - 'Bird is going into the shop
next week. Last mechanic who cut a water line to get the parking
brake
to work was fired. Seems he wasn't qualified!? I'm hoping the new guy
can service the air dryer without disconnecting the LP tank :^0

degree arc to work used primarily in hvac work

Jim,
That's exactly what it is. It's a 6 point box-end wrench that's
been cut enough to slip the tubing through so you can get a good grip
on the flare nut, usually brass and soft. The tubing wrench is made a
lot heavier on the end to keep it from opening up under a lot of stress.
I've used the craftsman brand in the past and found them to fit
too loosely to be any good. The Snap-On brand is a tight fit and
works well. Haven't tried any other brands, but when you find the
right one it will fit snugly on the nut.
