Had trouble shifting with my "new" two year warranted Allison 643 so I
took it to INMAN ALLISON IN Carol Stream Illinois (near
Chicago...BECAUSE..they had a ..VALVE BODY MACHINE...to check it
out..really neat, they took the shifting "box" out of tranny after
dropping pan AND saving my synthetic fluid..and put it in valve body
machine....shifted it in all gears..adjusted it right there....
problem with tranny was had 2800 springs in it and it would not shift
until 2800..really roared..same as before with old tranny that broke
TWO FLEX PLATES.....SO...they replaced 2800 nsprings with 2600
springs...NOW..IT SHIFTS MUCH SOONER AND ...I doubt if I will crack
any mor FLEX plates!!!
Dont go to an Allison tranny place unless they have a ...VALVE BODY
MACHINE!!!!! otherwise, all they can do is WING it!!!!!
