While it's not a Wanderlodge, it appears Country Coach has secured enough backing to restart building coaches again. The brother of the original founder bought the original assets and intellectual property several years ago. He started building a coach with his own monies, but has now apparently gotten enough backing to restart real production.

It would definitely be good for the industry.

WanderlodgeGurus is a very nice place to hang out in. "The Environmental Protection Agency issued the company a notice of violation and accused the company of breaking the law by installing software known as a “defeat device” in 4-cylinder Volkswagen and Audi vehicles from model years 2009-15. The device is programmed to detect when the car is undergoing official emissions testing, and to only turn on full emissions control systems during that testing. Those controls are turned off during normal driving situations, when the vehicles pollute far more heavily than reported by the manufacturer, the E.P.A. said."

If you read the articles, VW has already admitted guilt in the software scheme.

Since we have seen several new rigs with paper tags getting really broke in on this trip, I can only assume that this is fairly common. But hey, the 3 slides still work! Just the back clip needs a 'little' work. (Edit: And on second look, the rear side panels and the bottom four bay doors on driver's side and two on passenger side. Ooops! Aw well, got the 'first scratch' out of the way.)

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to everyone. A great day to reflect on life's blessings, like these wonderful buses that we get to enjoy. We endured some interesting driving around us yesterday, but we arrived safe and uneventfully in Montgomery Texas last night. Today we get to meet the newest member of the clan that arrived four days early on Monday - our first great grandchild! Yet one more thing to be thankful for.

I'll admit that I do much of what he says currently, but only because I have to do some of it for my chosen career. As soon as I can retire, there will be a drastic slowdown and return to the basics of life for me. Hell, my current cellphone doesn't even work at the retirement house. It quits 10 miles out! And I'm looking forward to it!
