KOA 1000 Islands, Association Island. Yes, it’s a KOA, but a unique one in that it is its own island on the outer edge of the Thousand Island chain of the Saint Lawrence Seaway. They built their own causeway to an island in Lake Ontario. It is about 20 miles off I-81, west of Watertown in western upstate NY. It is of course somewhat secluded and very quiet. The gated entry prevents any errant tourist lookie-loos. Unlike most KOA parks, we did not see any time restrictions on the pool usage. Lots of May flies of course but they tend to land on vehicles rather than people. Lots of birds. We had a lake turtle emerge about 15’ in front of the bus to lay her eggs on the bank of the marina area. Good power and full hookups. Prices much better than you might expect when you hear KOA. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

Check specifics at the KOA website.

If you have Google Earth app (and you really should if you don’t) search for Association Island KOA should find it.

Enjoy.
FWIW check the "headliner" concerts on Saturday night. Some fill up BOTH campgrounds, the bluegrass festival for sure, if you call them, they will tell you which ones do so you can plan your trip accordingly!
If you are looking for old school Florida charm, try Cedar Key RV resort.
http://www.cedarkeyrvresort.com/

Its about 5-7 miles from Town. Bank owned and operated, great rates and Big rig friendly with very large spaces. Connie and Cliff are the current work campers / managers. The locals say it's like Key west was 20-30 years ago. Plenty of eateries in town and a Walmart in Chieftain as you roll in with other box stores. Our favorite lunch place is a bar / raw bar / restaurant called "steamers" in town on the waterfront. You can't miss it, it's upstairs overlooking the water, a wall of glass and outside bar rail overlooking the waterfront, the fresh fish sandwiches are great and although I am not a raw bar guy, guests we've taken there have told me the oysters were excellent. If you have a significant other that likes canvas bags of all types, not just ladies handbags, Cedar key Canvas is on the left as you enter town. They do all their stuff on the premises made in the good ole USA. You can get anything you want made up including but not limited to your favorite collegiate team. They ship world wide. Order what you want if you do not find what you want in the store and ship it home! The pizza and Italian food place in the center of town (on your left as you head into town) just as you hit the water is pretty good too. Get some to go and go to the waterfront park with picnic tables to eat and walk the dogs!

I saw in the other thread that the "greater WAGU" was planning a rally in the greater Asheville Area. Donna and I used Ashville and the Blue Ridge Mountains as our second home for well over two decades so I figured I'd mention 3 places that could accommodate a Rally:

Tom Johnson's in Marion, NC just off 40:
http://www.tomjohnsoncamping.com/Page.as...round.aspx
Close proximity to downtown Asheville and the Builtmore estate. MASSIVE campground, all paved spots 50amps full hookups.... a second HUGE campground that has grass spots BUT also has a HUGE room you can use for a meeting. RV dealer on site WITH Prevosts..yes the Tom Johnson of Charotte, NC that sells to the NASCAR teams... go Play if you want to, this is his other store and he does keep them here as well!

Bear Creek Campground:
http://www.ashevillebearcreek.com/
Closest proximity to downtown Asheville and the Builtmore estate. If you walk out their exit it overlooks the Builtmore Winery wine fields. They held a Prevost Proud Rally here one year. Full hookups and 50 amps BUT the sites are a bit tight( old school)!!!!!! You can do it here but it won't have a "resort" feel.

Outdoor Resorts RV Resort:
http://www.outdoor-resorts.com/blueridge/
Prevost now holds their rally's here, but it it not close to the downtown Ashville or the Builtmore, you can drive.......... BUT a specular upscale place to hold a rally.

This place will not be big enough for a good size rally but if you want to camp on the top of a mountain and truly look down at God's country like you were on mount Olympus from your bus window or awning, then this is it!:
http://www.campfirelodgings.com/

FWIW Fall leaf peeping is THEIR Season, bug bucks and advanced reservations.......so think about that, and I do mean most places book up years in advance, even today!!!!!!!!

OK,
So your "snowbirding" here on the east coast of Florida this winter or vacationing. Ya did the Disney deal, walked your dogs on the beach, toured the space coast and still have a few days to burn on your way out of Florida. The significant other wants to do the shopping therapy thing, and you've been a bad dog and need to provide a way to get out of the doghouse and off the salon couch without too much pain!!!!!!
I may have a solution for you. Why not do the "tourist thing" in Saint Augustine, one of the oldest settlements here in FL?
Outstanding state part to stay at, did I mention beach again? Oops
http://www.floridastateparks.org/anastasia/

You can bike to town or drive if you so desire. The old fort and settlement town is very close. If you drive, you can plug a meter OR go to the visitors center and park in their multiteir parking garage. Shopping in quaint little shops in town by the fort or hop on over to I95 via 16 and all the discount outlet shopping you want including camping world, Gander Mountain, BOSE outlet, and if you are a Ford guy, a HUGE dealership right in line to "play" at for the fella's! Harley dealership west side of I95 to get the "official t shirt" if that is your thing. Tour the old fort and town, take a guided trolley ride through town or a horse drawn carriage ride during the evening to watch the sunset and view the inter-coastal. Who knows, if you play your cards right, ya might get lucky! For the not no faint at heart, take the ghost walking tour at night to see what buildings in the old town are haunted and why !!!!!! Plenty of eating establishments of all varieties and cuisines. Since we are on WAGU and spaghetti is my favorite, they used to have a small NY style pizza and Italian restaurant center of town east side. Deck on the back to eat out in good weather. My FAVORITE place to chow down when we go. It's been about 3 years so I hope it is still there, if not, no worries, PLENTY of other choices!

Tip, some of the park circles may be tight for 40-43 footer so call the office and speak with a Knowledgeable work camper and they will tell you where you can fit. Some are HUGE, others not so much!

If you want to to literally "camp on the beach" in the Daytona Beach Area, then is is the place for you. Power, water and a dump station. Outstanding restaurant right next door with an outside deck. Both the Flagler county beachs AND the restaurant are dog friendly! If you bike, you can bike or drive about 4 miles north to SR100, Flagler Beach, where they have an outstanding farmer's market on Friday's and Saturday's mornings until noon. Tons of restaurants and drinking establishments to choose from.

Park: http://www.floridastateparks.org/gamblerogers/

Reservations: http://www.reserveamerica.com/r/campgrou...kCode=gamb

PS when they talk about pets not allowed on the state park beach, they mean THEIR state park beachfront area about 1000 feet of it. Dogs ARE allowed on the beach on either side of their beachfront which is Flagler county and the restaurant is on Flagler county property. Both sides of the flager county beachfront are easily accessible from the campground section, enjoy!

Tons of restaurants and drinking establishments to choose from.
