I am hopeing I can get some information on this.

I recently had my radiator and CAC renewed- Very expensive. I am still having overheating problems - not nearly as bad. On my trip from Illinois to Florida I had to hold down the speed to 55mph for a good part of the trip. Going thru the mountain areas was quite difficult.
I am told I need a new or rebuilt hydraulic motor to drive the fan. Was also told they are several months backlogged - but a rebuilt kit is available.

Two questions:
1- Does anyone know the model number of the hydraulic motor?
2- Does anyone know how to remove it without removing the radiator?

Any help will be appreciated

Thanks

Hi
I am hoping I can get some advice. On my last trip my 2001 LXi had some heating issues. I had to shut down the coach several times - red light came on. The temperature gauge was just over 210. After stopping for about 10-15 minutes the temperature was low enough so I could continue I found that the fan controller was not working so I check with my "guy" and he said to plug the two lines going to the controller and the fan will run at full speed. This did not help a lot. I had to continue the trip so I ran at a lower speed - still had over heating problems.

I did replace the controller when I got back. I found one on eBay.

I am told that I really need to have the radiator removed - cleaned and checked out. It looks to me like the removal of the radiator is quite a job. Does anyone have any suggestions? The mechanic said that if I do not do it right I will be nervous - always watching the temperature gauge, he is right. Also the overheating could cause much more expensive repairs.

The coach has about 160,000 miles.

Sorry for the completely newbie post...

I've found a 1966 Wanderlodge that is in remarkably good condition for its age. I really want to buy it, but I have a ton of concerns about parts availability.

To give this some perspective, I have restored a handful of classic fords, but I always do things like Mustangs or Broncos because parts are plentiful. You could build a new one from scratch.

I have a workshop on my property that is 40X60, and have every metal fabrication tool that I would want including a CNC plasma table, Finger Press Brake, fixture table etc... I have a decent woodshop, and access to a professional cabinet shop if I need. I can do most everything...but there are some things normal people can't make like curved glass, and tail lights etc.

So, here's the concern. The windshield is cracked...Can I get a replacement? If a tail light breaks, are there reproductions or used parts? Are there parts available to get the 391 running well? I've never worked with a FT series motor.

What are the gotchas to look for? What are the things I wouldn't expect could kill my project?

I help many people on Bronco forums and Mustang forums, hopefully someone here will have pity on me and help me too.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings Group
NEW PROBLEM,,, well, no
The high idle run away may be about to be solved so here goes,
We found that the air dashpot / solinoid that pushes the rack in to the 1000 RPM high idle had a problem. We disassembled it and found a severe score in the inner cylinder that the inside neoprene O ring was sticking on. The unregulated (or so it seems, please correct me if I am wrong) air pressure now pushes the inner plunger consistently past the score and allowed the piston to drive the rack wild. This condition has evidently been adjusted out on my motor from since before I bought the Bus. When the piston suddenly cleared the score in the cylinder the run away idle happened. When we honed, cleaned and lubricated the cylinder, the piston started working smoothly and well with 30 to 100 PSI of air. We then found that the inner spring that cushions the push plunger in the rack housing MAY BE WEAK. This spring has no specifications for replacement so we are looking for a replacement air solinoid / cylinder. When we screw the solinoid up tight enough to push the rack to the right RPM, it is not repeatable as though the spring is weak. This has been an expensive and stinking diagnostic that this new shop has VERY diligently worked on. BTM Coaches in Cocoa Florida, Service Manager Pat and Mechanic Charlie have fantastic and very observant to this and many other issues on my rig. I totally recommend BTM to all of you at 1445 Cox Road in Cocoa, Florida. Does anyone know where to purchase a new solinoid or have the compression specification for the inner spring. The outer piston return spring is fine.
Thank you,

Hi,

The time came to renew my front tires. On the recent tip to Nova Scotia, I was getting a slight intermittent vibration in the wheel. I had it checked in Quebec and they felt it was the tire wear pattern. It wasn't a balance issue as I have Centramatics as balancers
Google ...Centramatics.

As I have Hutchinson Rodgard runflats, I returned to their Plant in Buffalo NY..

(There is another owner that has had them installed successfully elsewhere, but there has also been 2 outside installations that failed and were removed.)

In the event of a front tire failure, these runflats should make control possible and will allow up to 50 miles of travel at a reduced speed.

I bought the new tires ( Michelin 365/70/22.5) through Valley Tires in Buffalo under the Advantage program. ($1795 including all taxes )They removed the wheels and Hutchinson picked them up. ( couple blocks away).
Hutchinson removed to old tires and mounted the new.

Valley Tire reinstalled the wheels, did a chassis lube could have done the alignment..

Everything went smoothly and the ride on the way home was perfect.

Since Hutchinson purchases many tires, Brian Sanom is putting together pricing that hopefully will match the Michelin Tire program.

He will then give pricing for complete packages. including pricing with new Alcoa rims.

If anyone is interested, one method could be to send Hutchinson your Alcoa rims (no tire) and have the wheel/tire assembly shipped back.

Attached are 3 pictures of the installation, and the contact information and copies of a brochure. In the photos, a little of the actual runflat is visible. Looking at the brochures, the one installed is a RRF

(similar to the CRF but with rimlock)

The manufacturing plant is impressive ,fully secured..and restricted.

I need some advice.
I just had some body work done on my coach - 2001LXI
Part of the work was to install a driver's side camera.
I went to pick it up today and they said it ran for about 5 minutes and shut down and they were not able to get it started. They asked me to come and see if I could help. I went and checked the things that gave me problem in the past: A/T switch - etc.
I than started the generator and it started and ran for a few minutes and shut down. I believe that there must be a cut off on the fuel line - is that correct?
Below are some of the things I noticed that should help someone with more knowledge give me some guidance.
I first want to say that while running the cables for the driver's side camera they took the connector (picture helps to show) apart and said there was a lot of corrosion - but it did run for a few minutes before shutting down. This is the door below the driver's side window.
Here are some things I noticed:
1- transmission shifting lights were not lit.
2- Warning - do not shift light was lit
3- The alarm over the dining table was giving short bursts - I did shut off the LP Master - I installed a new refrigerator and this is not needed unless I install a gas grill. This seemed to silence the alarm

I have an important trip planned next week and would like to be able to use the coach.

Not sure if I can give my phone but will try 6305615745
