I want to start by saying I am not the most techy guy.
I put two smart tv's in my LXi. They are a lot smarter than I am. I do not want a monthly charge or initial cost for a satellite system. I do have Amazon prime - would be willing to join Net flicks - Zulu etc.
I want to be able to get the standard channels - ABC, NBC, CBS FOX etc. I do have a iPhone with a hot spot - unlimited usage.

Often with my antenna I can pick up several stations - but I have to do a set-up each time I move the coach.

Hopefully someone has figured out what I am asking and can direct me on how to get what I am looking to accomplish.

Hi guys, my name is Mike I live in Southern Oregon.
I'm fairly new to the Wanderlodge. I have already fallen in love with it! I have a 92 WB 3907. When I purchased it I went through the entire air system. Now I need some electrical help. I had the Diode go bad for the tag axel(Fixed)
I now have a problem with the landing lights. Dashboard has both driver and passenger side LED lights on. Rear passenger side landing light was on (I Disconnected it) any ideas where to start troubleshooting?
Just got home from a 1800 mile trip to find out stairs were down the last 100 miles or so, light in stair case will not shut off when door is closed. I have no schematics for the stair system. Can anyone help me out? One big help would be where are the rear 12v panels located? Previous owner has changed to much for my comfort. I'm in the process of restoring 12v electrical System back to BB specs. Anything I should be aware of as far as that's concerned?

Folks,

Here's a short video explaining my attempt at remote control of my bus. So far I have control of all the 120VAC and 12VDC loads. In subsequent phases I'll add monitoring of gauges and IR for A/V. Hope you enjoy this:

I have $600.00 into the pieces needed to make this work on my coach, but my coach already has the Powerlink AS PLC and motorized CB's. I have a bunch more money wrapped up into replicating the Vantare panelboard on my workbench. I don't want to experiment on my Vantare; hence, the workbench setup. Plus, Square-D no longer sells the Powerlink AS. They moved on to the Powerlink G3 (which is also good, just bigger and more expensive). So, my workbench setup serves as a valuable backup for my coach system components. There are other remotely controlled CB's on the market. Square-D (now owned by Schneider) makes the Powerlink G3 which like the Powerlink AS are motorized, Eaton/Cuttler-Hammer makes a line of solenoid operated latching breakers that can be driven with Modbus over TCP (the BABRP, BABRSP, BRRP and CLRP set of breakers), Carling Tech provides their range of motor driven remotely operated breakers. A quick google shows a bunch more. If I were to start from scratch I'd look for a system that's currently supported so that you don't have issues down the road with breaker availability. Right now, ebay is my friend.

As far as driving any of the above remotely operated breakers, free software like OpenHAB with it's rich set of bindings, including the Modbus binding, makes things very cheap, simple, extensible, and maintainable by the user. What you need is some sort of PLC that directly interacts with the CB's and then you need a way of talking to that PLC. Most modern day PLC's speak Modbus, so it's a very simple thing to have a dedicated computer in the house that runs an openHAB server that reads and writes Modbus commands to the PLC. The openHAB server can take user inputs from switches or from laptops or any handheld.

The remote capability is also free and provided by openHAB. OpenHAB has their own cloud service called my.openHAB. In my video demonstration my Android is talking to the server in my house via the openHAB cloud. My.openHAB takes care of all the IP addressing needs and it takes the place of the usual dynDNS stuff, so no static IP address or dynDNS is required. The coach can be anywhere and you can be at any other remote location and your handheld can receive openHAB alerts (email or sms text) or send commands to the coach openHAB server via the cloud. My.openHAB proxies your local server site over a secure https link which means it's encrypted and your communication between your remote Android and your my.openHAB cloud server is authenticated, plus there's secret keys involved in the connection between your local server and the cloud, plus you get to control the set of switches that you wish to share with the cloud (my.openHAB), so it seems they've taken reasonable security precautions.

If anyone needs help exploring or setting up some of these concepts I'm happy to help!

This time taking the bus out of storage, I was greeted by my clock/tank monitor panel having no power and my backup camera (original) not coming on, electronic horn not functioning... And I'm sure some others.

The Master Disconnect triggers the relay in the left front load center (overhead)-- but there's no power to it. From what I can tell, that yellow wire comes from the electronic filter. I disconnected from the relay to the mastered fuse block, and ran some wire from the mastered circuit breaker bus to the fuse block, and things came back to life.

Radio and CB still don't have power, but this condition existed previous to this failure. I know there's a blown 2A fuse just below my Master Disconnect-- not sure if that goes to the CB/Radio or not.

So-- I suspect a bad electronic filter, based on the schematics. Are people still filtering this, or are we generally bypassing this now?

And, is this (attached) the electronic filter, under the sofa? The case appears screwed down and riveted shut.

Hi,
Just purchased a great device . For the RV , it is acts as a range extender and as a secure network.
You have it pick up the campground or any available wifi signal (McDonalds) It becomes a secure router , giving you private wifi within the coach. You can have several of your devices run from it . With this , you only need to select the available wifi with this one device, then your PC or other phones/printer will connect. If the wifi is weak, put it in the car, closer to the office/signal.
This one has 128 G memory and acts like a personal cloud. Download from PC or Tablet/phone . Pictures, music etc and up to 7 devices can access the data (with permission)
It has a 7000mA battery . Allows charging of phones or tablets.
Just NEAT !
Their PREMIO click product is also neat. A keyfob remote control for the camera on the phone.
It might be nice to have a couple or 3 wifi game cams looking around the RV. Perhaps one in the toad, looking at the bus. They ideally would record on movement and send video to TV,also turning it on. (The 450 has the 4 external cameras wired to the TV's but there is no record or motion detection).
I have wifi set up in the rig and the new tv's are wifi capable.
Rather than repair the old King Dome, I am considering replacing it with the Dish Network "pay as you go" satellite bundle at around $750 total which includes the antenna, receiver and DVR. Dish does not require a long term contract. They have the "Pay As You Go" program which will provide service on a monthly basis. The only negative I can see so far is that the Relay Bundle will only work with Dish Network.

I’ve been thinking about upgrading my salon and bedroom TV(s) for a while now but I didn’t want to hang a big oversized flat screen on the interior of my bus. I already have a 42” HD flat screen in my second curbside bay. Further, I wanted to utilize the compartments that housed the original ProScan 21” CRT type TV(s) that BB installed when the bus was new. The trick was to find the largest snug fitting ones that would fit in the existing compartments. After much measuring and searching, I found the (2) Samsung 24” Smart LED TV(s) that just fit perfectly on Amazon. They are model # UN24H4500. The additional 3” in the screen size is proportionally perfect and fits the size of the rooms nicely.
If you’re looking to upgrade your old tube type TVs using the existing TV compartments, you may want to consider the model mentioned above. The pics below will show you the steps we took to install them.

My musical horns doesn't work. When I switch the power to on, I hear a loud click outside coming from behind the center of the front cap and a momentary reverse "L" on the digital readout, then nothing. I assume that is the brain making the noise. Finding it is another matter. Appears not to be behind the center door on the lower dash which makes me think it may be located outside behind the center of the front cap. Anyone know exactly where it is and how to get to it?

Secondly, from what I have read PMMI no longer repairs the brain? Is there another source to get it repaired........ if I can find it and remove it?

As an option, has anyone installed another source of music such as an MP3 player that can play songs through the speakers on top i.e. "the horns"?
Hi,
I have replaced the rear camera on the 450 using the same cable and Panasonic monitor.
The original camera was a MITO ecx 100. A double camera with B/W and colour. It is no longer made.

I spoke with a very helpful rep at Mito corp who suggested using an adapter that they have available with the Mito CM 32
http://mito-oem.com/product.php?id=CM32AH

The adapter requires 4 soldered connections that can be done on a bench. Then a simple plug in.
I mounted the camera behind the glass but the IR caused double reflection so I had to mount it outside, drilling a 5/8 hole in the FG under the old glass. Drill the hole off centre to give the wire some room to allow tipping. The unit comes with a grommet. It was made for metal but it works with touch of adhesive -- unlikely that it would come out anyway.

Cost about $140
Picture of camera installed.

What is the current recommendation for internet access?

I do not have a smart phone---only a pay-as-you-go phone, which usually remains in a drawer. Park wifi, when present, is often poor, and may incur extra costs. (This park uses Tengo at $3/day. Nearby truckstops are ~$4-5/day.)

Also when county hunting (a radio-sport activity for amateur radio operators) I pull over in a rest area or other wide spot to get on the air, typically away from habitations or other structures. It would be helpful to access the web in these cases.

Usage would likely be email and text web browsing, perhaps maps and weather radar, but not video streaming.

Are there recommended minimum-cost options for one essentially starting from zero?

Thanks--
