Make sure the anti theft switch (labeled AT) on the dash is in the
correct position, as well as trans in nuetral.

Nick,
#1--When you turn the key, there is no sound at all--nothing.
#2--When you turn the key, you hear a single click, that's all.
#3--When you turn the key, the starter cranks the engine, but
the engine doesn't fire.
#4--When you turn the key, the starter cranks the engine, the
engine starts to fire, then the starter whirs loudly.
#5--When you turn the key, the starter barely turns the engine.
I can think of many other circumstances(about 14 more), I'm sure
you get the idea.
If you really want help, please carefully consider exactly
what the thing is doing and not doing and write us a better story.
Otherwise, you're not going to get any meaningful help.

I am experiencing number 2 in my 91 SP36 with a 3208 Cat. Any suggestions?

Check the batteries with (hydromiter and /or load test), & the cables including
the chassis ground.

Is it the A/T switch or is it something really serious. When you turn the ignition switch to the first click, does anything happen? Check for 12v on the switch and check the A/T switch for continuity (if you have this switch) Those big relays rarely go bad. Are you getting 12 volts to the starter? and the starter relay? do you have a front rear ignition switch? I have seen this switch literally blow up from lack of use and corrosion.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I replaced all the batteries and it still
wouldn't start... until a few well placed hammer blows on the starter. Now the
alternator won't start so I am moving on to start a new thread.
Thanks again,
