Successfully pulled the compressor and clutch today. You need a special tool to hold the clutch while loosening the bolt that holds the clutch on.

I tried a parts house for a new magnetic coil, but they couldn't x it with anything.
I went to a local a/c specialist and he had a new magnet and clutch combination for $95.00 and found an older megnetic coil. He let me have that one for $20.00. I installed it and voila, I have dash air again.

replacment clutch is compatable with the belt(s) you are using.. Some different cars use a different diameter pulley. Some dual V belts, some a single and, of course the serpintine belt.

A/C Compressor Clutch - ronmarabito2002 - 08-28-2012 02:55

Thanks Wallace, but that's the first time I've been accused of clean living.
I'm glad it is done and glad that I am still able to do it.
