Nutone Unit - WilliamK - 05-11-2011 07:10 Art, I sold those about 35 years ago, if memory serves me they had spring clips on the side below the counter top that had to be comppresed to remove the unit from the counter top. Just press in on both at the same time while lifting, this is where your 3rd hand becomes useful..LOL Elden Nutone Unit - artw - 05-11-2011 10:21 I saw the spring clips on each side but didn't understand how to manipulate them. As I understand it I need to compress those two springs. Will try tomorrow. Thanks for the info. I'm having trouble finding a new switch. I use to see them on Ebay about a year ago but can't find anything now. I suppose I couls epoxy the knob onto the switch and hope it never breaks again. Any other ideas? Art Weatherly Riverside Ca '84 PT36 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "artw" > > > I saw the spring clips on each side but didn't understand how to > manipulate them. I put the relevant parts on my workbench to figure how to make it work. A small piece of rubber cut from a garden hose washer was the asnwer. I stuffed it so as to spread the prongs on the plastic stub of the switch. This spread the prongs out with enough force to lock the control knob in place. It now works fine. Have I ever used it? No. Am I likely to use it in the future? Just maybe. But it is gratifying to know that everthing woke on that 26 year old coach (except for the altimiter). The altimiter is next. Nutone Unit - artw - 05-18-2011 04:17 Fred, Thanks for those complements. However my days of milkshakes and such have been eliminated from my diet. Perhaps some cabbage juice or, even better, turnip juice. Oh boy!??
