A little of subject but something of interest - Blair - 06-17-2005 00:56

Flip them off? I don't think so... The entire Alaska field if used
exclusively by the US as our
sole source, would last less than 4 months. Do the math.

A little of subject but something of interest - Tom Warner - 06-17-2005 01:17

http://planetforlife.com/oilcrisis/oilproduction.html

But the doom and gloom presented by some over the declining world oil
production and the prediction that we will all be huddled around a single
candle per family in the winter does not take into consideration the fact
that the United States is a technological powerhouse. The fact that you are
overlooking is that coal not fuel oil dominates the developing asian
markets. http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/ieo/coal.html
During WW2 everyone predicted that Germany would run out of petroleum
products. German scientists produced synthetic lubricants and then went on
to use potatoes etc to produce forms of alternative energy.

Blair its not the math that you should worry about, but the developing
chinese industry. Relax scientists always rise to the occasion when the
graph of money versus need lines are favorable.

A little of subject but something of interest - Bill Goss - 06-17-2005 01:23

Blair, Help me with the math on this. If Iraq was to
pay us for the 300 billion spent, at $50/b, how
many barrels would we have?
thanks, Bill

A little of subject but something of interest - Dan Weaver - 06-17-2005 11:38

Keep on dreaming. The war was NOT for the oil. Zero barrels for
free my friend.

Pay as you go, burn no bridges.
