Koni adjustable shocks--how do you adjust them? - mrdonut12 - 06-01-2005 03:45

I took everyone's advice, bit the bullet, and ordered new Koni
shocks from Bluebird.
They arrived today, are huge, and there's no instructions
in the box, although the side of the box says to read the
instructions. ;o)
I can easily twist them and don't feel any resistance.
There are no markings on the outside of the shock, except for
one arrow that indicates "up".
How do I adjust these things? I want the firmest setting,
per Jeff Miller.

Thanks,

Koni adjustable shocks--how do you adjust them? - geez_al - 06-01-2005 04:16

I wish I could remember exactly, but I'd only screw you up so I won't
attempt. I just wanted to say that I have mine set at the firmest setting
and wish I had backed it off one. I would definitely follow Jeff's opinion
over mine, but it's just a little too stiff for my liking.

Koni adjustable shocks--how do you adjust them? - Tom Warner - 06-01-2005 05:11

I have a copy of the Koni adjustment procedure I received with my new
shocks. But its easier to just go to the Koni site and download it:
http://www.konirv.com/adjustment.html

OK,,, TURN THE SHOCKS UPSIDE DOWN,,, PUSH IT ALL THE WAY IN, THEN
SLIGHTLY ROTATE COUNTER CLOCKWISE UNTIL YOU FEEL A SLIGHT "SEATING" FEELING,,,
THEN TURN IT CLOCKWISE AS FAR AS IT WILL GO,,, THAT IS THE MAX,,, I JUST BOUGHT
A NEW PAIR AND THAT IS HOW I DID IT.... RIDES MUCH BETTER NOW,,, DAY,,,,

Koni adjustable shocks--how do you adjust them? - George Lowry - 06-01-2005 16:02

Per the advice of both BB and Koni, I set mine at the mid point and
they ride great....
