purge switch - Hisham Amaral - 10-22-2008 13:04 The best way to stop the corrosion problems with the winterizing purge switch is the add a check valve right on the switch. My switch failed last week and drained my air supply along with loads of water in the air system. After talking to few people and looking at the postings I removed the switch and made few call to Clippard Minimatic Corp. The company gave me the name of my local distributor in my area. I was told by the sales person that the is a check valve available to attach to the toggle purge switch that would fix my problem. I installed the new switch and the check valve, wallah my problem went away. The part number for the miniature check valve is mcv-1 cost for this part is %4.50. The part number for the (purge) toggle switch is TV-3S cost for the toggle switch is $9.33. When install these parts be sure you have the check valve is positioned correct in the direction.
