Sat TV 110 signal - Don Bradner - 10-13-2008 09:10 All Motosat dishes were affected by the same change, and need updates. The only charge is to the shipping for the update module back and forth, although they haven't had enough modules to keep up with this one. Software is posted to their website, and is updateable from a computer with the proper cable. I have the cable, so I was going to say that, if you had a Motosat unit, we could take care of it at RATS. Can't do much for a KVH. The type of change that was made is one that is likely to be more prevalent over the next few years on all satellites, so the idea of paying $200 every time it happens is not appealing! Sat TV 110 signal - Don Bradner - 10-13-2008 09:59 trackvision is a KVH product, not Motosat. If you have Dish you will probably need an upgrade, if you have DirecTV you do not. Everything was working fine but it was not acting right at our last tailgate (wouldn'tlock on a satellite when I changed channels) 2 weekends ago. I will try again this weekend.
Thecompanythat did the software upgrade has stopped putting KVH on RV's and is only servicing (reluctantly) those of us who have it. Hestatedhe's had too many issues withthe KVH systems andcustomers are not happy, which reflects on his business. In his opinion, he believes the RV market is not large enough for KVH to devote proper supportcompared toothermarkets they serve. FWIW.
