8V92 Won't cut off - Bryan Altier - 05-09-2005 11:09 This past Saturday drove to Road Atlanta for a race. Upon arrival I hooked up to two 30 amp power outlets. Switched the power swith over to the 30 amp side. During this time the engine was running. After getting hooked up I went to stop the 8V92 and it would not cut off by the key. I checked the rear switch and could not find anything wrong. I was about the disconnect the batteries when I decided to go back and turn everything "off" on the power switch that way I could make sure that the converter would not be giving 12 volt to the engine to keep it running. I turned the power switch to off and then the engine cut off with the use of the key as it should. Has worked fine since then. Any ideas what was going on ? Note that this was the first time in several months that I had used the 2 30 amp connections and switched the power swith to the 30 amp side. Bryan Altier Greenville, SC 88 WLWB40 "Xanadu" 8V92 Won't cut off - Curt Sprenger - 05-09-2005 11:21 If your unit is the same as our 1987 PT38...the manual doesn't state specifically that the 8V92 might not turn off with the ignition, but it says that if the ignition fails to shut down the 8V92, to pull the "pull to stop" lever that is located down under the dash on the left side of the steering column. You have to get down and look under that dash to see the "pull to stop". I've had to do that once. Can't explain it. Curt Sprenger â87PT38, Anaheim, Calif. I just replaced my transfer switch (Off/Gen/50/30) switch assy. I was having generator voltage fluctuations. When I lifted the cover of the switch, to my surprize I found the switch completly submerged in water. The switch was completely rusted. I was very surprized that it was still working to some extent. I was told that some of our 88 WB40 had this problem and that BB was installing a duck bill check valve in the bottom ogf the enclosure allowing water to escape without having debris enter. I purchased a replacement switch from Holland (much cheaper than BB).Everything is now working well. I would check your coach to see if this is related to your problem and if not install this check valve to prevent future problems.
