As someone else mentioned, there has been an industry standard RV plug
diagram in the Files section of this forum since day 1 at
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/WanderlodgeForum/files/7%20Wire%20RV%20Plug/

Unfortunately, as has been discussed on the forum in the past, you
need to be aware that BB typically did not use the industry standard
wiring configuration (not on my 83 or 91), so you will need a meter or
test light to identify the wiring on the Bird plug end and re-do it
before you can utilize any standard trailer or toad wiring plug. Some
people wire their toad/trailer to match the BB plug, but that doesn't
make much sense if you ever want to use that trailer with any standard
wired vehicle (which all my Jeeps and Suburbans have been from the
factory).

Thanks Mike,

We need to add a file for the 6-pin plug that many of us
use on our toads. I'll see if I can dig something up.

Good point David! Ask and you shall receive (sometimes anyway)!
Please go to the Files section and look in the "RV Plug Wiring
Diagrams" file and see if the new 6 pole wiring diagram helps. I
converted my trailers to the 7 pin RV style plug in, since my vehicles
all have the RV style receptacle. But, like many people I use a 6 pin
receptacle on the toad with a converter cable from 7 pin RV plug on
the BB side to a 6 pin plug on the toad side.
