DASH AIR BACK TO LIFE - putneyflash - 11-13-2006 09:33

HI GANG: WELL I HAVE CONVETED TO CF-134 INSTALLED NEW PAG OIL AND A
NEW DRYER, I HAVE TO PUT 12 VOLTS DIRECTLY TO THE AIR COMPRESSOR WIRE
ON THE COMPRESSOR TO GET IT TO RUN. THE CONDENSER FANS RUN, THE
EVAPRATOR FANS RUN, BUT THE COMPRESSOR DOESN'T ENGAGE WHEN THE ROTARY
SWITCH, (LEFT SWITCH) IS TURNED ON. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE BLACK
WIRE LEAVING THE COMPRESSOR GOES TO PICK UP ITS 12 VOLTS. AS ALWAYS
THANKS FOR YUR HELP.

In our PT I traced the compressor clutch 12 volt wire to the battery
charger compartment. There I found a fuse holder corroded and the fuse
was burned. Cleaned up the fuse holder and installed a good fuse. I
could then activate the clutch 12 volt from the drivers AC controls.

Greg,
The battery charger compartment gets dirty. Not a good location for a
glass fuse/holder. I should have relocated the fuse/holder or replaced
with a sealed fuse set up, but that's another project some day.

Curt, I was sure you gave thought to the cause of the blown fuse. It
is hardly ever a defective fuse. "A Fuse will never blow its self."
(MikeB,however crude, this paraphrase is a helpful reminder)
