No Longer a Lurker. This Board Is Great!!! - what1not - 11-05-2006 02:25

Hi Everyone,

I have been watching and more importantly reading this Group since
June. I have just retired and have been interested in getting a
motorhome and seeing the country with my wife, Jo. My grandchildren
want to take the initial and are already planning the route (Zion,
Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, and D.C. (my oldest grandson wants to
be president).

Took the leap two weeks ago based on the info I found here. I
purchased a '87 PT40 on EBay. Some minor issues so far. Mainly
maintenance.

Here is my thanks to the Board, I was cleaning up the batteries
filling the cells, after finishing and playing with the switches
inside. Couldn't get it started. Read the manuals, pulled the
ignition switch and swore a little bit. After a full day with no
luck, I used the search feature (How come ignition doesn't have
an "n" after the first "i"). Thank You Jim Darst and his posting on
the A/T switch!!! I did see in the manual the Anti Tamper switch,
but looking at the dash A/T switch, it just didn't register.

I have found a wealth of useful information in the messages, files,
database, photos, and links. Its everywhere!!!

Thanks to all the great contributors, which is everyone who does
contribute!!!

Jo & Bill,

Congrats on the new-to-you Bird! Let the learning experiences begin!
Unless you are out of the ordinary, it probably won't be the last
time the A/T switch tests your patience. Good job on the search
feature! ;^)
