air brake reservoir petcocks - david brady - 04-23-2005 14:34

Folks,

Although I've had my air brakes and air dryer
serviced several times by BlueBird, I've never
personally climbed under the coach to drain the
reservoirs. Can some tell me where the drain
petcocks are located on an LXi?

TIA,

Hi David,

You'll find one on each air tank. At the frame level, 3 toward the
rear (forward of the transmission) and, if I remember correctly, one
forward. Don't forget the 12VDC compressor tank in the bay area.
There is a drain valve on each one. FWIW, I've never had more than a
light mist from any of the main or aux. tanks as a well maintained
air dryer pretty much keeps all the moisture out. The small, bay
tank for the 12VDC collects more because there is no air dryer for
that one. That one, on my coach, is located next to the 120Vac
compressor but is not connected to it.
