Xantrex Prosine 2.0 Charge Settings - sfedeli3 - 08-15-2006 05:51

Hello all,
Just completed the installation of a Xantrex Prosine 2.0 inverter
under the guidance and help of Tom Warner in NY. Tom knows his stuff!!
Anyhow- the question that I have concerns the settings for 6V flooded
cell batteries. Is anyone aware of a web site that gives the Bulk,
Absorption and Float rates for the charger settings on the Prosine
units? I suppose that the rates would be the same for other chargers
too. I am using the flooded 6V golf cart batteries from Sam's club.
They are made by Johonson Controls and have 105 Ah of capactity each.
The total bank contains 315 Ah (3 pairs in series). I was hoping that
someone out there on the site has the same arrangement/batteries and
could let me know how they are set up. Tom has the Heart 2500 & Link
interface which has a different configuration algorithim than mine.

Shane,

The Trojan T105 batteries are rated at 225Ah, so once you series and
then parallel the pairs, you end up with 675 amp hours.

then click on the link to

A PDF document will open and you get the specs on the near Bullet
proof and time proven T105's.

Hi Shane,
You need to set your battery type to flooded, the charge
characteristics to factory and the size to 675 Ah. If you do not have
the battery temp sensor, set the temp(cold, warm, hot) to match your
current conditions. If you live where you have extremes, change this
when your seasonal temps set in.

Thanks again Jay. Was a little confused on the Ah ratings. My cells
have a "reserve capacity" of 105 mins stamped on them. I take that
to mean that after 105 mins, they are at 50% of capacity and pretty
useless for starting a Detriot.

Guess you needed an extra bank of cells for the kickin' sound system
that you put in.

If you want to get a better understanding of wet cell batteries,
take a moment and look at the Trojan website. It is very helpful no
matter what kind of batteries you have...
