Help 85 PT 36 - Rex - 05-11-2006 04:47

Does anyone have a diagram showing wiring from ignition switch to
starter solenoid. I turn the switch, it appears to work; I hear a
solenoid making, but starter does not engage. Suggestions appreciated.

Wiggle the shifter to make sure you are definitely in park. I have
stopped for the day, set the parking brake and shut it off and it
still be in gear the day when its time to start it. So check to make
sure you are in neutral.

Secondly, make sure the A/T switch on the dash is in the run mode.
This switch disables something so that the Detroit won't start.

Where you from Rex?

very hard to find, particularly with all the grease-he bypassed the solenoid and
when I returned home I replaced it.
