auxiliary pump switch - rvvi - 07-21-2005 03:45 dose this switch need to be on when the heat selector switch is on summer or winter. 83 fc mich. auxiliary pump switch - Ralph L. Fullenwider - 07-21-2005 04:24 rwi: That switch is only needed in the winter mode to help push the coolant to the heater cores (3) really is not needed, or at least I have not needed it in 8 years and no problems with chassis heat. The pump is located on the drivers side rear, mounted underneath the coach to the metal flooring. The Summer/Winter switch pulls in a Sporlan valve to allow the coolant to flow or if not pulled in, to short cut the flow only through your water heater. One might argue that, in summer, on a hot day, pulling a 6 or 7 percent grade, that your temp gauge rises, you can flip the switch to winter, turn on the pump, move the chassis heat thermostat to call for heat, thus adding the cooler coolant in the heater cores to your system and cool the temp back down on a long grade. Hope this helps, Safe travels, Ralph and Charolette Fullenwider At 03:45 PM 7/21/2005 +0000, you wrote: >dose this switch need to be on when the heat selector switch is on >summer or winter. >83 fc mich. > > Safe travels, Ralph and Charolette Fullenwider |
