Microwave oven - Pete Masterson - 08-28-2008 04:45 Considering the age of the original unit, it will most certainly be more cost effective to simply replace it (assuming that the fault is not a very minor thing). If you can't troubleshoot the problem (broken switch? or worse?) even the cost of paying for troubleshooting would make repair non-economic. Finally, finding parts for a nearly 20 year old microwave/convection oven might be impossible. Basically, you're looking for an "over the stove" mounted microwave/ convection oven. Consumer's Reports is the primary place to get objective quality and performance information about kitchen appliances (and many other things).
